I'm in Portugal right now. James bought me a ticket to come with him and is letting me pay him back via art commissions so I'm pretty happy. We took the buses from London to Paris to Area Suco to Coimbra leaving at 7am one day and arriving the next evening - not a bad journey at all. The scenery is really nice in Spain and Portugal and it was wonderful watching it change bit by bit as we headed South.
Toby and Patricia, with whom we're staying have a beautiful cottage in the country side, on a winding road a good few kilometres out of town. The stars are bright out here and the line where the back garden ends and the forest begins is hard to place, pretty idyllic all in all.
This morning we got up and went surfing. It's been a while since I'd been in salt water. The waves weren't too big by any means and seen as I'm not experienced with a body-board they where just right for me. And, just right for everyone it seems,we all caught a good share of clean waves and went for the post-surf pastry treats with a pleasant sense of deserving.
Apparently the winter has been uncharacteristically like a tropical rainy season, but since we've arrived it's been nothing but sun and warmth by day. At night times, good blankets and the wood burner keep thins pretty cozy.
Lasagna is in the oven and there's homemade homous and rice cakes to snake on. Vida boa, né? (This is the good like isn't it?)
